Dominic Hilbrink

Clinical Social Worker | Founder of The Moral Injury Project

Dominic Hilbrink is a clinical social worker with 25 years' experience in mental health and occupational trauma. He is a senior clinician at St John of God Richmond Hospital where he led the Trauma Recovery Program for many years. He has worked with veterans, first responders and other trauma exposed groups, adapting evidence-based interventions to the complex, multidimensional psychological injuries in these populations. Dominic provides clinical supervision to multidisciplinary teams, collaborates in trauma research, and has presented to frontline personnel, agency staff and clinicians on a range of topics. Dominic established the Moral Injury Project in response to a need for information that speaks to lived experience. He has co-authored several chapters on moral injury and looks forward in 2026 to the release of his first book on the subject.
