Where depth meets direction in modern psychological practice

You didn’t enter this field to feel rushed, disconnected, and as though you’re just getting through sessions. And yet… most conferences leave you feeling overloaded with information, with no space to think, and then having to return to work unchanged. This conference is different. It won't be a sit and listen day. This is a conference designed for:

  • Reflection, not just information sharing

  • Connection, not just networking

  • Integration, not just inspiration

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • Feeling grounded and re-energised in your clinical work

  • Clarity about how you want to practise moving forward

  • New ways of thinking, not just more techniques

  • Meaningful connections with like-minded clinicians

  • Permission to slow down and reflect

Keynote Speakers

Our keynote speakers are leaders in clinical thinking, research, and practice, each bringing a distinct perspective on how meaningful change occurs across the therapeutic journey. Together, they challenge conventional approaches, bridge theory with real-world application, and invite deeper reflection on the relational, cultural, and systemic forces that shape our work as clinicians. Expect conversations that are grounded, thought-provoking, and directly relevant to the realities of contemporary practice.

Dr Rita Younan

Keynote Speaker

We’re excited to announce Dr Rita Younan as a confirmed keynote speaker at the Succoris Academy 2026 Conference. Rita is the Founder and Managing Clinical Director of Schema Therapy Institute Australia (STIA), an AHPRA-endorsed supervisor, Vice President of the Jeffrey Young ST Association - Events and Symposia, and an Advanced Schema Therapy Supervisor/Trainer (ISST). She travels internationally delivering Schema Therapy training and is renowned as an excellent presenter and facilitator. Her keynote is entitled: Schema Therapy from the Inside Out: Self-Practice for Therapists and will explore how therapists’ own schemas and modes influence clinical work and how reflective self-practice can strengthen Healthy Adult functioning, reduce burnout, and deepen Schema Therapy interventions. A rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s leading Schema Therapy trainers. Drawing from Schema Therapy alongside EMDR, CBT, DBT, somatic approaches, and psychedelic-assisted therapy, Rita brings a deeply integrative and clinically grounded perspective to working with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, and personality pathology. We’re thrilled to welcome Rita to the stage on the Gold Coast this August.

Tania Kalkidis

Keynote Speaker

Tania Kalkidis is a Clinical Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Psychotherapist, and Board-Approved Supervisor with over 30 years of experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and couples. Her work focuses on understanding the relational and emotional processes that underpin engagement, motivation, and avoidance in therapy. Drawing on psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment and relational theory, as well as neuroscience, Tania supports clinicians to work skilfully with resistance and ambivalence, viewing avoidance as meaningful communication rather than opposition. Tania has trained and supervised psychologists across Australia for over 18 years, delivering national programs, workshops, and conference presentations to more than 2,000 psychologists. She is the Clinic Director of Freedom in Spirit Psychology on the Gold Coast and the Founder of Deep Mind Psychodynamic Training. At this conference, she brings a rich, practical lens to enhancing engagement and motivation in therapeutic work.

Shai Hipperson

Keynote Speaker

We are excited to have Shai Hipperson presenting on an exciting and cutting-edge area of psychological practice: Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy: The Evidence & Future Directions. Shai is a proud Ngarigo woman and the Principal and Clinical Psychologist at Conscious Mind Centre, Australia’s first Indigenous and psychology-led Medicine-Assisted Therapy clinic, and the first authorised clinic in Queensland delivering Medicine-Assisted Therapy alongside an Authorised Prescriber psychiatrist. A trained psychedelic practitioner, Shai brings a clinically grounded and ethically informed perspective on trauma and integrative care, shaped by cultural humility, continual learning, and the belief that sustainable healing emerges through the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

How This Conference Is Designed Differently

  • Keynotes that challenge your thinking: Not just information—but perspective shifts

  • Reflective spaces built into the day: Time to process, not just consume

  • Intentional connection opportunities: Real conversations, not surface-level networking

  • A slower, more human pace: Because depth requires space

Why We Created This Conference

After years of attending conferences that left us feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, and ultimately unchanged, we found ourselves asking a question over and over:

What if there was a different way?

As clinicians, we both deeply value learning, but often we walked away from professional development days feeling:

  • Full of information, but lacking integration
  • Inspired in the moment, but unsure how it translated into our work
  • Disconnected from ourselves, rather than more grounded in our practice

And we knew we weren’t alone in that.

As co-founders of Succoris Psychology Group, and as practicing allied health clinicians ourselves, this question stayed with us.

The work that we all do matters and how we sustain ourselves in that work matters just as much.

So we began imagining something different.

A space where clinicians could:

  • Think deeply, not just absorb information
  • Connect meaningfully, not just exchange business cards
  • Slow down, rather than rush from session to session
  • And leave genuinely renewed, not just with professional CPD hours “ticked off”

This conference is the result of that vision and it’s not about doing more, it’s about doing things intentionally differently.
