Why I created this course

A word from Dr Catherine Hart

I created DBT Launchpad to support DBT-trained clinicians—especially those working in private practice or small teams—who often feel unsure about how to put their training into action. So many of my peers shared that they felt isolated, overwhelmed, or worried about “doing it wrong.” My goal is to change that. This course is designed to give you confidence, structure, and practical tools so you can adapt DBT to your unique environment, create sustainable services, and make a bigger impact for your clients.

FAQ

  • What if I want to join a live course?

The live courses and Q&A's are only run once a year. You can put your name down on the waitlist for a spot in the live course by contacting Catherine at: [email protected] Sessions can also be facilitated for larger staff groups/organisations upon request.

  • I might be a bit slow getting my service off the ground, how long do I have access to the content for?

Firstly, everyone comes to this program at different stages, with different priorities and demands on their time. There is no such thing as fast or slow! To support your learning journey you will have access to all the content for one year after sign up so you'll be able to access them in your own time and at your own pace.

  • I have never used a learning portal before, I'm not sure what to do.

You have probably used a learning portal (LMS) without realising it before but even if you haven't, it's super easy to use and there is an introductory video in your first week to help you get used to where all your resources are kept.

  • Do I have to be a psychologist to join?

No - the DBT Launchpad is designed for any mental health clinician who has completed DBT training, including psychologists, mental health social workers, occupational therapists, counsellors, and mental health nurses. No matter what environment you're working in, if you want more confidence, structure, and practical tools to implement DBT, this course is for you.

  • I am a sole practitioner, will I be able to set up a DBT service?

Absolutely! You've come to the right place! This course is specifically designed with people like you in mind and will help you to plan and build an impactful and sustainable DBT service.

  • What if I have questions that I need answering as I go through the course?

There are 2 recorded Q&A sessions that you can access during the course which give you an opportunity to listen to the most common issues troubleshooted. You can also access our private DBT Launchpad Facebook group where you can gain support from your facilitator and peers.
